I can relate to Quanah when he had to leave his people and camp to learn the ways of white people. Even though they don’t mention this much in the novel, I’m pretty sure when he came back to his camp with the knowledge he had about the whites and believing their way was the best way he also felt like a different person. Usually when some learns about a new culture, religion, with different cultural standards, traditions, etc, we discover a new part of ourselves and new things about the world we didn’t know we would like.
